I had a terrible day in court. While listening to the mitigation presented, including our client’s forced early entry into a gang, his childhood trauma surrounded by fatal violence, the judge responded “I don’t care.” I headed straight to my studio and my emotions spilled onto the canvas and were set in motion by palette knives.
